In Greene County district court Nicholas Scott Weber, 22, of Scranton was sentenced Aug. 11 to five years in prison with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of eluding while intoxicated. He was also sentenced to five years in prison with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. The terms of incarceration are all concurrent and are concurrent to terms in six other Greene County cases. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge on the eluding and possession charges, and $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge on the OWI charge; the fines and surcharges were suspended. A charge of failure to affix tax stamp was dismissed. He must pay $1,800 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Cases were initiated in Greene County district court during the week ending Aug. 12 as follows: Peter Edward Miover, 51, of Boone, fraudulent practice- second degree and gambling- avoid setoff; Michael John Downey, 38, of Carroll, operating while intoxicated and possess or carry dangerous weapon while under the influence; Cindy Lou Muennich, 55, of National City, CA, OWI, and in a separate case, possession of marijuana.
